Lapis lazuli is one of the oldest stones in the world of adornment. Ground into pigment, it became ultramarine, the blue of medieval skies in oil paintings, the blue reserved for the robes of the Virgin Mary. As a stone, it carries that same depth: deep, royal, impossible to look away from.
This natural lapis lazuli camellia brooch sets a deep blue cabochon at the heart of a textured gold bloom, cast in gold-plated copper shaped like a camellia frozen at its most perfect moment. A ring of sapphire and ruby-toned crystals frames the stone, catching light the way a secret catches the eye.
Not quite subtle. Not meant to be.
