An orchid branch on a gold-tone stem, the wide dusty rose bloom open at the top, a lustrous freshwater pearl at its centre, ringed by six emerald-green zirconia stones. Below it, small flame-worked glass buds in deep pink suggest a plant still coming into flower, caught mid-bloom.
Flame-worked glass is made by hand over an open flame, each bud shaped individually, each one carrying the slight irregularity that only handwork produces. Alongside the precision of the enamel bloom and the cool clarity of the zirconia, that irregularity is what makes the piece feel alive rather than manufactured.
At 80mm × 45mm it has a natural vertical form that sits well on a lapel or collar. Designed in our London studio, where botanical forms meet the considered detail of the Art Deco era.
