Every object that has been made for centuries carries something beyond its function. The teapot, in the Arabic tradition, is one of them, a form associated with hospitality, ceremony, the particular ritual of making tea for someone you want to welcome.
This Arabian teapot pendant necklace renders that form in miniature, a gold-tone sterling silver teapot, intricately detailed, with a natural lapis lazuli stone set at its centre. Lapis lazuli has been prized across the Middle East and North Africa for thousands of years, a stone whose deep royal blue has carried meaning in jewellery, art, and architecture across many centuries.
The pendant is 20mm, sitting at the collarbone on a 40cm chain with a 6cm extension. A piece that carries a story quietly, without needing to explain it.
